Partnership in a Company Without Contributing Money
Question
A person becomes a shareholder in a milk company by paying eleven and a quarter rupees, and as long as his partnership lasts he is given one hundred rupees on this money. If this same partner sells his milk to this company, then at the completion of the year some money is given to him by the company under the name of profit, calculated according to the amount of milk he sold to the company — although the partner had already received the price of his milk from the company beforehand.
Answer
Taking this sum under the name of profit in a partnership without money is not permissible. If the partnership was entered into by paying money, then taking the share and profit according to the agreement is permissible. If this money is given as a reward (inʿam) because of doing the company’s work, that is permissible.
