Partnership in a Printing Press, Separation from It and Division of Profit
Question
Two people, joining together in partnership, opened a printing press. The press ran for six months, and both took the profit half and half. After that the press was sold for the sum of eight thousand rupees. The first party is taking six thousand rupees and is giving the second party the sum of two thousand rupees, saying that the latter has already taken two thousand in profit — whereas the first party has also already taken two thousand in profit.
Answer
If the money was from both of them and the partnership in profit and loss was also half and half, then the profit that was taken equally was rightly taken, and if there is a profit on the sale of the press as well, it will be equal.
