Keeping the blood inside when slaughtering a goat
Question
Question: When slaughtering goats and castrated animals, the butcher does not let the blood flow out, but forces it into (the carcass); and in order to show a thin animal to the customer as fat, he fills that animal’s vessels by injection with a drug that makes the animal look fat. What is (the ruling on) eating its meat? And what is (the ruling on) the butcher doing so?
Answer
By this, all the meat into which flowing blood (dam masfuh) has been absorbed will become impure (najis). Showing a thin animal as fat in this way is deception; in the hadith it is said: [ar]مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا[/ar] “Whoever deceives us is not of us” (hadith).
