Hunting with a Dog

Question

A hunting dog was released after saying “bismillah, Allahu akbar.” By the time the dog brought the game to its owner, the game had already died. What is the ruling now on eating it?

Answer

If a trained dog was released at the game after saying “bismillah, Allahu akbar,” and the dog caught the game, and the game died before the hunter could reach it, then that game is halal, provided that the dog wounded it so that at least some blood came out.
