A cock shot with a gun

Question

Question: A person hunted a cock, and hunted it with a gun: he fired the gun at the cock without the takbir, and the cock died from a single shot. After the bullet struck, the cock was lost for a while; after searching, the cock was found dead. This dead cock was slaughtered and some people ate it; at the time of slaughter a little warm blood also came out of the cock. Firing the gun without the takbir, the cock being found dead, and then slaughtering it — is this cock haram?

Answer

The bullet or the pellets in a gun are not sharp like a knife or an arrow, and they do not fall under the ruling of the arrow. If the gun was fired with “bismillah” said and the animal died from it, so that slaughter never took place, that animal is not halal. If it was found alive and slaughtered in the Shar‘i manner, it will be halal.
