Rinsing the Mouth after Iftar
Question
Is it necessary to rinse the mouth after iftar in order to join the prayer? If one joins the prayer without rinsing the mouth, will there not be some deficiency in the prayer?
Answer
If he has eaten something whose particles remain in the mouth, he should rinse his mouth; otherwise, if those particles go down right in the state of prayer, there is a risk of the prayer being invalidated. If he has not eaten any such thing, there is no such risk; nevertheless, rinsing the mouth is the better course.
