How Much Time a Joint Supplication Should Take

Question

(1) For how long should a joint supplication be made? If half an hour or an hour and a half is spent on a joint supplication, while in today’s world different people have different occupations, is this correct from the standpoint of the Shari‘a? (2) What is the ruling on earnest entreaty and weeping during a joint supplication in the mosque?

Answer

(1) Not everyone’s state is the same. For one person, spending time in supplication feels like happiness itself — and it truly is a very great happiness; for another, this time feels burdensome, or because of his needs and necessities he has no room for it.
