Supplication When Founding a Mosque

Question

What should be recited while laying the foundation of a mosque?

Answer

[ar]وَإِذْ يَرْفَعُ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ[/ar] “And [remember] when Ibrahim and Isma‘il were raising the foundations of the House: ‘Our Lord, accept [this] from us! Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing’” (Surah al-Baqara, 2:127).
