The ruling on sajda al-sahw for repeating al-Fatiha forgetfully or deliberately

Question

If in some rak‘a of a prayer Surah al-Fatiha is recited more than once, forgetfully or deliberately, will sajda al-sahw have to be performed?

Answer

If in the first two rak‘as he forgetfully recited it repeatedly and consecutively, sajda al-sahw is necessary (lazim). But if he recited it repeatedly in the last two rak‘as, or repeated it in the first two themselves but not consecutively — rather, he recited al-Fatiha once before the sura and then again after the sura — then sajda al-sahw is not necessary (lazim).
