Nafl prayers on the nights of the two Eids

Question

What is the ruling on praying nafl prayers on the night of the two Eids? Is it established that the Prophet ﷺ and the Companions ﵃ prayed nafl and tahajjud on the night of the two Eids, or not?

Answer

It is written in “Maraqi al-Falah” that on the night of the two Eids it is mustahabb to spend the whole night in worship and to pray nafl prayers. The Prophet ﷺ always performed tahajjud regularly.
