Raising the Hands for the Qunut in the Witr

Question

A person in blessed Ramadan joined the imam in the witr prayer in the second rak‘a. Will this masbuq raise his hands or not?

Answer

When the imam in the witr raises his hands to recite the qunut supplication and says the takbir, every muqtadi — the masbuq and others — should also do the same. Raising the hands is neither fard nor wajib; it is sunna.
