Fixing Particular Suras for the Witr

Question

Some huffaz in the witr always recite “Inna anzalnahu” (إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ) and Surah al-Kafirun, and in the last rak‘a Surah al-Ikhlas, even though the fuqaha’ have forbidden always reciting one [and the same] sura. To what extent is this correct?

Answer

The reason the fuqaha’ forbade it is so that the notion does not arise that the prayer is not valid if some sura other than this particular one is recited, or that others do not come to hold this notion because of such practice.
