Reciting “اَلْحَمْدُوْ لِلّٰهِ” with a lengthened damma
Question
In Surah al-Fatiha the imam recited “اَلْحَمْدُوْ لِلّٰهِ” instead of “اَلْحَمْدُ”. Did any change of meaning occur or not? Does this entail the invalidity (fasad) of the prayer or not?
Answer
If the damma of the letter “د” (dal) in “اَلْحَمْدُ” was lengthened somewhat, or “لِلّٰهِ” was recited immediately after the dal, the prayer is still valid in this case too; nor is sajda al-sahw required because of it.
