Praying in half sleeves

What is the ruling on performing the prayer in half sleeves?

Answer

Praying in any garment in which one could not go to a respectable gathering of the Shari‘a is makruh, as has been expressly stated in the books of fiqh: [ar]الاستفسار: صلى رافعا كمي قميصه إلى المرفقين، هل تجوز الصلاة؟ الاستبشار: نعم، لكن يكره، كذا في فتاوى قاضي خان[/ar] “Question: A man prayed with the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to the elbows — is the prayer valid?
