Must a prayer performed with makruh tahrimi be repeated?

Question

Is a prayer performed with makruh tahrimi one that must obligatorily be repeated (wajib al-i'ada)?

Answer

A prayer in which a wajib was omitted must obligatorily be repeated (i'ada); however, this repetition applies only while the time [of the prayer] remains. Once the time has ended, the obligation lapses, and at that point amends should be made through istighfar (seeking forgiveness).
