Sunrise in the very midst of the prayer

Question

If, in the Fajr prayer, the sun rises after one has bound the niyya (begun the prayer) or after one rak‘a has been prayed, will the prayer be valid in such a case or not? Or should the make-up (qada’) prayer be performed in congregation, or should each person make it up individually?

Answer

[The prayer] will not be discharged (ada’). If [the prayer] was missed by all of them, they should perform [it] in congregation.
