Making du‘a in the prayer in a language other than Arabic

Question

In the ‘Asr prayer, before the imam gave the salam, after reciting the du‘a [that is read] after the salawat, and after other du‘as from the Noble Qur’an and the noble hadith, I inadvertently also made a du‘a in Urdu. Most probably I made this du‘a: “O Allah, bestow [on me] favour befitting Your majesty.” The jurists have written that making du‘a in the prayer in a language other than Arabic is haram, [but] it does not invalidate the prayer (not mufsid). I had not remembered this ruling, so I repeated my prayer.

Answer

You did right to repeat the prayer.
