Saying “sami‘a Allahu man hamidah” instead of “sami‘a Allahu li-man hamidah”

Question

Instead of “sami‘a Allahu li-man hamidah” (سمع الله لمن حمده), the imam says “sami‘a Allahu man hamidah” (سمع الله من حمده). Will this not cause some defect in the prayer?

Answer

This does not make the prayer invalid (fasid); however, it is necessary to strive and take care to pronounce the words correctly.
