A Barelvi’s Prayer Behind a Deobandi

Question

If all four imams are right, why is a Barelvi’s prayer behind a Deobandi not valid?

Answer

This disagreement is not like the disagreement between the Shafi‘is and the Hanafis. Rather, the Barelvis call the esteemed ulama of Deoband — indeed all Muslims apart from themselves — disbelievers; they have written in their book that whoever does not regard them (the Deobandis) as disbelievers is himself a disbeliever. So why would they pray behind anyone?
