Women Praying Individually in Rows
Question
If, owing to a lack of space, women stand in a row and each is praying her own prayer separately, is there any objection in the Shari‘a to this? If at some function there are many women and the time of the maghrib prayer has come, may this be done?
Answer
When women pray each her own prayer without congregation, standing in front of and behind one another like rows, there is no objection in the Shari‘a to this. It will simply be that one is in qiyam, another in ruku‘, another in sajda, another in qa‘da — just as the sunna and nafl prayers may be performed in several rows.
