Whether the Eid prayer is due from women, as well as raising the hands and other matters

Question

I have heard that a woman should not perform the Eid prayer either at home or at the Eidgah (the Eid prayer ground), as if it were not wajib for a woman. Please inform us about this soon. And what is [the ruling] if a woman performs the Friday prayer (jumu‘a) in the Jami‘ mosque? The group that calls itself Ahl-e Hadith picks out verses in the Qur’an and shows them, and says that the Prophet ﷺ commanded that the prayer be performed by saying only “Allahu akbar”, not by stating the whole prayer, i.e.

Answer

The Eid prayers are not [obligatory] upon a woman: it is neither her duty to go to the Eidgah, nor is the Eid prayer necessary for her at home. Jumu‘a too is not [obligatory] upon a woman: she should perform the Zuhr prayer at home and should not go to the Jami‘ mosque for jumu‘a. If she also states the intention of the heart with the tongue, this is not prohibited.
