Negligence in several acts of the prayer
Question
Question: there are pillars [of the prayer] that are deliberately performed in the following manner, and this has now reached the level of a custom: (1) Not performing the qawma properly: not standing up straight after ruku' as before, and going straight down into sajda. (2) Not performing the jalsa properly: not sitting up straight after the first sajda as before, and immediately going into the second sajda. (3)
Answer
In all these matters it is necessary to observe the rulings of the Sacred Law: committing some of them entails a light karaha (dislike), some a severe one, and in some there is even the likelihood of the prayer becoming invalid. The prayer is the mother of all acts of worship; to make it deficient and invalid through a little inattention and heedlessness is a great loss.
