If the direction of an old mosque is incorrect

Question

We, the residents of Nakma Shah in the town of Sherkot, have been praying in our mosque for a long time. The mosque is very old, from before our memory. Now talk has arisen that the direction of the mosque is wrong. It was checked with a compass, and indeed, according to the compass, there is a difference of 2 feet in the mosque; that is, the northern end of the mosque should be [shifted] 2 feet 6 inches towards the west, or else the southern end 2 feet towards the east.

Answer

Now, using a compass, the row markings should be placed there in the correct direction, and the congregation should stand in accordance with these markings and pray. There is no need to tear down the whole mosque, nor is there the means [for it]. Repeating (i'ada) the prayers performed until now is not necessary.
