The iqama for a qada’ prayer
Question
When performing a fard prayer as qada’, should one say the iqama and then pray, or is the prayer valid without the iqama too? If prayers were performed without the iqama, should they be repeated, or are they valid?
Answer
It is valid without the iqama too, so there is no need to repeat (i‘ada) the prayers already performed. If the qada’ is done in congregation, then the iqama is sunna (masnun).
