Dar al-harb and dar al-Islam

Question

Question: Shortly before blessed Ramadan, I, the humble one, had a doubt about a few words in the definition of dar al-Islam and dar al-harb; through you I resolved those very words, but by mistake, apart from the words “and judgement by some according to the custom of the Tatars” (والحكم من البعض برسم التتار), I did not put a number on “Banu Qurayza with Judaism” (بني قريظة باليهودية), and the meaning of this passage was not resolved.

Answer

This passage is originally from “al-Fatawa al-Bazzaziyya”, but Mawlana ʿAbd al-Hayy ﵀ quoted it with some abridgement, and here and there it also contains copyist’s errors; indeed, the cause of the incomprehension in the passage asked about is precisely this copyist’s error.
