Earning money by giving a bribe

Question

Question: Money earned by giving a bribe and money earned by selling wine — are the two equal?

Answer

If, by giving a bribe, one obtained, for example, a permit, and then traded in lawful goods in a permissible way, that money is not haram; however, there will be the sin of giving a bribe. In a state of compulsion, giving a bribe to obtain one’s own right is not a sin either.
