Why Does the Rooster Crow?

Question

What should be recited upon hearing the crowing of a rooster, and what is the cause of its crowing?

Answer

The rooster most often crows upon seeing an angel; at that moment one should ask Allah the Exalted for His bounty (fadl). So it is stated in “al-Mishkat”, p. 293.
