The Appearance of a “Long-Lived Jinn Companion”

Question

Below is a text entitled “The Hadith of the Appearance of a Companion” (a photostat copy), which Maulvi Muhammad Hanif Aslam Qasmi vigorously published in the January–February 1978 issue of his magazine “Ruhani ‘Alam” (“The Spiritual World”, Muzaffarnagar), causing confusion among the people.

Answer

(1) There is no doubt that some jinn heard the noble Prophet ﷺ reciting the Noble Qur’an and believed, as mentioned in Surah al-Jinn. (2) It is also correct that jinn generally have long lifespans, as stated in “Akam al-Marjan fi Ahkam al-Jann”. (3)
