What to Do with Newspapers Containing Quranic Verses

Question

What is the ruling on selling the newspapers Al-Jam‘iyyat and Da‘wat as waste paper, given that they sometimes contain Quranic verses?

Answer

They should be wrapped in a clean cloth and buried in a grave dug in the ground; selling them as waste paper would involve great disrespect.
