Poems, Band Music and the Daff at a Wedding

Question

May women sing some verses to the daff (frame drum) at a wedding and on joyful occasions, or not? And during the wedding procession, may one have any instrument played — an English brass band, large frame drums or kettledrums, and the like — or not?

Answer

Of these, only beating the daff to announce the nikah is permissible; nothing else is permissible.
