A Sayyid’s Nikah with a Non-Equal (Ghayr Kuf’)

Question

Question: I had sent a request for a fatwa before this, but no answer came. The question is this: Zarifa, daughter of ‘Umar Butt, an office messenger, whom he had previously given in marriage, received a divorce (talaq) from that man; there was also a child — the child is 2–3 years old — and for two years she stayed with her father, but he made no arrangement for her marriage. Then Zarifa, by her own choice, formally contracted both a court and a Shar‘i nikah with ‘Abd al-Wahhab, a Sayyid, and lived with him.

Answer

When you sent a question before this is not known to me. Had you written the date and month, it would have been searched for in the register. Even while writing this letter you have admitted to being in anger and have even threatened suicide. My respected friend! Unwarranted anger is such a calamity and so dangerous that it ruins a person’s life and ruins his iman as well.
