A Young Man Living Abroad Authorises His Father for His Nikah

Question

I am staying in Canada for the sake of study. My father wrote regarding my marriage, and in reply I wrote: “Perform the nikah by telephone,” as happens with many other young men. On the advice of a certain religious scholar that a power of attorney should be obtained, I had a power of attorney made by a barrister, had it attested by the Pakistani High Commissioner and sent it to my father. I wrote to my father that after the nikah is recited, when they take the acknowledgement (iqrar)

Answer

Since you made your father your authorised agent (mukhtar) on your behalf, and he accepted on your behalf in the nikah gathering before witnesses, the nikah is valid without any difficulty. Do not have any doubt or hesitation.
