Nikah of an Adult Young Man Without His Father’s Consent

Question

Zayd (an adult) has contracted nikah with Hinda (an adult) without his father’s consent. Witnesses, a qadi and a nikah receipt — everything is in place. Now, since the father is displeased, the ruling is sought. The questioner spread this question over 6–7 pages. The nikah receipt is also present; it was on its back that the respected Mufti wrote this answer.

Answer

If the facts are as stated, then this is extreme selfishness, deception and forgery. In the sight of Allah the Pure it is blameworthy and vile; in decent society it is unacceptable, provokes anger and deserves reproach and aversion; and a false entry in the nikah register may also bring legal liability.
