Nikah with a Raza-Khani Woman
Question
Zayd wants to marry a Raza-Khani woman (a follower of Ahmad Raza Khan, i.e. a Barelvi) who holds that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has knowledge of the unseen (‘ilm al-ghayb). What is the ruling on contracting this nikah?
Answer
If Zayd expects that he will reform this woman’s views, he may marry her. This belief about knowledge of the unseen is wrong, but it is not shirk in the Essence (shirk fi al-dhat), on account of which a ruling of actual apostasy would be given.
