Nikah with the Wife’s Half-Sister

Question

It has been 22 years since my marriage, and no children have been born. Now my wife wishes me to perform nikah with my half-sister-in-law (her half-sister). Is nikah with a half-sister-in-law valid while I have my wife?

Answer

Combining two sisters in the nikah of one man is not permissible; it is absolutely haram. Whether the two sisters are full sisters or half-sisters, the ruling for all is the same. This is the command of Allah; the wife’s pleasure or displeasure has no bearing on it. What Allah has made haram will not become halal at the wife’s word.
