The Effect of Kissing and Embracing One’s Daughter on Her Stepmother

Question

If a man commits zina with his own daughter, will his wife, from whom that daughter was born, become haram for this man? And if this girl’s mother has died and her father has married a second time, what is the ruling concerning this second wife — will she become haram or not? Also, will the wife become haram for him through kissing and embracing his daughter in a state of desire, or through the preliminaries of intercourse (dawa‘i al-wat’), or not?

Answer

Because of this evil act of his, the girl’s real mother has become haram; the stepmother has not become haram. The same ruling applies in the case where he kisses and embraces his daughter with desire or engages in the preliminaries of intercourse.
