Chanting the du'a melodiously after the istisqa' prayer
Question
The istisqa' prayer and the khutba were led by one and the same person, and another person, after the prayer and the khutba were over, sitting down, made du'a in a loud voice, chanting melodiously, so that the listeners felt as though someone were singing. In any case, the weeping, lamentation and humility that there should be in du'a were not there. So is it right to make du'a in this way or not? Please tell us exactly the correct practice: how should it be done?
Answer
This too was done wrongly: du'a requires humility, not singing. It should be that the one who leads the prayer is the one who leads the du'a.
