Jumu‘a in Villages

Question

Is Jumu‘a permissible in villages or not? Kindly give an answer with references to the books.

Answer (1) — Nur al-Hasan The respected Shah Wali, the muhaddith of Delhi, wrote in “al-Musaffa”, the commentary on “al-Muwatta’”: [ar]پس نماز جمعه دو رکعت است در وقت ظهر با جماعت عظیمه از مسلمین در قریه یا در شهر[/ar] “So the Friday prayer is two rak‘as at the time of Zuhr with a large congregation of Muslims, in a village or in a city.
