Jumu‘a in a Large Village (Qarya Kabira)
Question
The population of a settlement is approximately three thousand. Its nature is such that most of the houses, streets and lanes are brick-built and paved. There are more than twenty-five shops, and there is also one central religious madrasa and seven mosques; there is a Hindi school as well. All necessary items for daily needs are available; there are also four or five meat shops, and the sacrifice (udhiya) is also performed here.
Answer
From the wording of the question it appears that this place is a large village (qarya kabira); Jumu‘a is permitted here. As a precaution, invite a scholar who has experience and insight in fiqh and fatwas and have him inspect [the place]; then, after he has seen all the circumstances there, act upon whatever Shar‘i ruling he gives.
