A Committee of People Unacquainted with the Shari‘a and Its Ruling
Question
Question: If the president of some committee is enamoured of English culture and unacquainted with the rulings of the Shari‘a, and among its members are some fornicators and drunkards, consumers of usury and people who do not pray, unacquainted with the rulings of the Shari‘a, can they give any decision on a Shari‘a matter? Can their decision be considered valid?
Answer
A committee of such people is not a Shari‘a committee, and its decision is not a Shari‘a decision; thus it is in “al-Hila al-Najiza”.
