Why is there a dome over the Blessed Rawda ﷺ?

Question

Zayd says: if the scholars of Deoband forbid building domes over graves, then why is there a dome over the most pure Rawda of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ? Why have domes been built over the graves of [such] noble awliya’ as Hazrat Ghawth-i A‘zam, Khwaja Mu‘in al-Din Chishti, Khwaja Qutb al-Din Bakhtiyar Kaki and Hazrat Nizam al-Din ﵀? Who built them?

Answer

Building over graves (a dome and the like) was forbidden by Hazrat the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself, and he did not order building over his own blessed shrine either. Whoever built it built it contrary to the noble hadith, and he should be called at fault: he will not be praised for acting against the pure hadith, and the noble hadith will not be abandoned because of his act.
