The Reward of One Hundred Thousand Kalima Tayyiba for the Deceased
Question
In our area, when someone dies, the relatives of the deceased have a khatm of the kalima tayyiba (the formula of divine oneness) done one hundred thousand times [by] the worshippers (musallis) of the mosque, and at the end all the worshippers are fed, whether poor or rich. What is [the ruling on] this food? And if there is any difference between the poor and the wealthy, kindly write it.
Answer
Conveying the reward of the kalima tayyiba, and conveying reward by giving charity to the poor, is very beneficial and a means of good. However, feeding those who recited the kalima tayyiba after the khatm resembles payment (ujra).
