Du‘a with Raised Hands after the Salam of the Funeral Prayer

Question

In our area, after the salam of the funeral prayer, the imam and all the followers raise their hands and make du‘a. Is making this du‘a permissible?

Answer

In “Khulasat al-Fatawa” (vol. 1, p. 225) this has been prohibited: [ar]لا يقوم بالدعاء بعد صلاة الجنازة[/ar] “One does not stand [on the spot] for du‘a after the funeral prayer.”
