Which Way the Head and Feet Should Point at the Time of Death
Question
At the time of death, [the dying person] is laid down with the head to the east and the feet to the west. Is this correct?
Answer
There is room for this as well — that at the time of dying the head be placed toward the east — but the head should be raised slightly by means of a pillow. The better way is for the head to be to the north and the feet to the south, with the face remaining toward the qibla.
