Does the Deceased Have Life in the Grave?

Question

Do the friends of Allah (awliya’) and the righteous elders of the religion remain alive in their graves or not? And if they do, why? For it has come in a hadith that the earth consumes everyone except the bodies of the martyrs and the prophets?

Answer

Besides the martyrs and the prophets ﵈, there are some other people too whose bodies remain preserved; this is what is understood from the hadith.
