Disapproving of [the Institution of] Slavery

Question

If a person disapproves of the Islamic institution of slavery and expresses his disapproval of it, does he remain a Muslim or does he become a kafir?

Answer

This disapproval is due to not knowing the true reality, just as other nations disapprove of it nowadays without being acquainted with the reality. So, rather than obtaining some severe ruling for such a person, explain the reality to him, so that he may give up following other nations and follow Islam.
