Harsh Words about the Mosque
Question
Zayd said to Bakr, “You do not collect donations for building the mosque; you only jabber.” At this Bakr said in anger, “Let the mosque go to Hell; we will neither collect donations nor help with it.” What is the ruling of the Sacred Law on Bakr?
Answer
Bakr uttered a very grave sentence; repentance, seeking forgiveness and remorse are necessary for him; let him also renew his iman.
