The Ruling on Those Who Say “The Shari‘a Has Nothing to Do with the Affairs of the Biradari”

Question

What is the ruling on people who openly say that the Shari‘a has nothing to do with the affairs of the biradari (a kinship or caste community), or on some who say, “In this matter we do not accept religion”? Kindly inform us of the answer with references to books.

Answer

Saying this is extremely dangerous: with it iman and marriage can hardly remain intact. Let them repent of it at once, and as a precaution also renew iman and renew marriage, and never say such a word again.
