Reward for a Child’s Good Deeds
Question
The reward for good deeds done in childhood, and the punishment for bad deeds, fall upon the parents — does this rule pertain [only] to the rights of Allah, or to the rights of [His] servants as well?
Answer
For all the good deeds children perform, they themselves deserve the reward; the parents receive the reward for [their] education and upbringing. The parents are responsible for [the children’s] education and upbringing — for every shortcoming in this they will be called to account.
