Officiating a nikah

Question: Is it permissible to take money for reading a nikah?

Answer

If an agreement is first made with the one who will read the nikah that he will have to go to such-and-such a place and read the nikah, and that such-and-such a fee will be given to him for it, then taking the fee in accordance with the condition is permissible.
